Obama wins, whats next for Clinton?

Now that Senator Obama has clinched the Democratic nomination and Senator McCain has begun his attacks on him, what will Senator Clinton do? She still has not conceded from the race, but few think she will run as an independent candidate as that would make her the Ralph Nader of 2008. She will also most likely suspend her campaign instead of ending it as that would allow her to keep her delegates and give her more power. From rumors yesterday, it seemed like she was going for the VP slot in Obama's campaign. The Obama campaign seems to be open to the idea of having Clinton somewhere in the campaign or eventual cabinet if he wins, but whether they offer her the VP slot, we will have to wait and see. She has the vast support of 17 million Democrats, but also carries a lot of baggage from her past. Other options she has are to go back to the Senate and run for the Governor's seat in NY, become a powerhouse Senator like Senator Kennedy, or run for Senator Reid's seat as Majority Leader. This campaign has made Senator Clinton much more powerful since it shows she does not need President Clinton and can carry her own weight. Her next steps are being watched very closely by everyone.

Interesting article. I wrote one on the same topic if you care to check it out. It is in our archives at www.nextgen-politics.com titled "So...What do you think about an Obama-Clinton Ticket?" I'd love to hear your comments since we both seem to be looking at the same issues.
